Why did Microsoft go from Black to White (racially motivated pics)?

I'm not sure if it was racially motivated, but the original guy looked a bit goofy. I think the head that they replace it with didn't look any better and was clearly a bad photoshop job. I'm sure they could have found another black model to replace the head with. But I'd say it wasn't racially motivate because there was still an Asian man on the left. Had they replace both heads with white heads then I think they'd have some explaining to do.
