Candlelight dinner for two - what to have?

I'm planning a romantic candlelight dinner with my significant other (our first - it's a surprise), and I'm wondering what would be the best things to include (besides candles, obviously). Suggestions? - as far as food, what types of candles, tablecloth, decor, etc. Doesn't need to be extravagant; just something cozy yet quaint, affordable, and which can be put together in a very short time (in order to spring the surprise).
